A bumper crop of smart meter links this week…
- Ofgem has published the results of its big smart meter trials, showing how much energy people saved from different measures
- Then the National Audit Office questioned “how much, and for how long, consumers will change their energy use” in response to the meters, and advised DECC to develop a consumer engagement plan “as a priority”
- Meanwhile Google scrapped its online energy monitoring tool becuase not enough people were using it, showing that take-up is low when customers are expected to opt-in to data sharing
- The Guardian’s Jo Confino wrote a nice blog on how business leaders balance fear and hope in the quest for sustainability
- And Adam Corner and Alex Randall published a paper on the limits of selling climate change action through social marketing
